Picking The Right Roofer

Don't get stuck trusting the wrong roofer

No one ever expects to have a roofing repaired or replaced, but if you live in your home long enough, you'll eventually need it. And when it happens, it's important to know who to call. A roofer you can trust is key in these situations - someone who will be there promptly and who knows what they're doing. Unfortunately, not all roofers are created equal, so it's important to do your research before hiring one. Luckily, there are plenty of resources out there to help you make the right decision. So if you're ever in need of a roofer, don't hesitate to reach out for help. You'll be glad you did.

There's a lot to think about when you're hiring a roofer contractor to work on your home. You want to find someone who is reliable, has a good reputation, and is reasonably priced. But how do you know if a contractor is the right fit for your project? Here are some tips to help you pick the best contractor for the job.

Years of Experience - Picking the right roof repair contractor can be tricky.  The first thing I would look for is experience.  It's not unprofessional to ask your roof contractor how long they've been repairing roofs and replacing roofs.  How many years have they been doing it?  How many roofs have they done? etc.

Multiple Bids - I know time is never on your side when you're needing a roof repaired or replaced, but be sure not to go too fast and just pick the first roof contractor you meet.  Sometimes, as consumers, we value convenience over quality.  When it comes to fixing your roof, you don't want to make this mistake.  Take the time to get multiple bids and get a feel for the roofing contractor and the scope of work each is recommending.

Customer Feedback - Be sure to take advantage of resources like Google, yelp, Angi's List to read reviews and other pertinent details about the roofer.  This can save you a lot of headache in the future if you just do a little bit of due diligence on the front end.

Licensed and Insured - The roofing industry is notorious for 'fly-by-night' companies popping up one day and being out of business the next.  There is a very low barrier to entry in the roofing industry and thus it allows a lot of rift raft in.  Make sure your roofer is properly licensed and insured.  No one ever plans for an accident or unforeseen issue, but when it happens you want to make sure your roofing contractor is going to be able to take care of it.

The bottom line is; do your homework.  I know you want to get it taken care of quickly and for the least amount of money, but if you can do it right the first time it will take care of the problem for good.  And you won't have to be calling people back out over and over again.  If I can be any help to you at all, please don't hesitate to reach out!
